The 7th ranked Washington Huskies will travel to Folsom Field to take on the Colorado Buffaloes this Saturday night in College Football action.

The 7th ranked Washington Huskies improved to 3-0 on the season after defeating the Fresno State Bulldogs, 48-16, this past Saturday. Washington had no trouble finding the scoreboard early in this one and easily pulled away for victory after taking a 34-0 lead with 12:07 left in the 2nd quarter.

Washington outgained Fresno State by a 420-313 margin, however, did lose the turnover battle by a 2-1 margin. Leading the way for the Huskies was QB Jake Browning who completed 19 of 22 passes for 255 yards and 4 TD’s. On the season, Washington is averaging 47.0 ppg on 431.3 total yards per game (301.7 passing yds/g, 129.7 rushing yds/g). Offensively, Washington has been led by QB Jake Browning who has 8 TD and 1 INT while averaging 266.0 passing yds/g. Browning has multiple weapons to throw to in WR Dante Pettis (4.0 rec/g, 69.7 yds/g, 3 TD), RB Myles Gaskin (2.3 rec/g, 29.7 yds/g, 2 TD), and TE Will Dissly (2.0 rec/g, 29.3 yds/g, 2 TD). The Huskies backfield has been led by RB Myles Gaskin (8.0 att/g, 51.0 yds/g, 3 TD), Lavon Coleman (8.0 att/g, 28.7 yds/g, TD), and RB Salvon Ahmed (6.7 att/g, 27.3 yds/g, TD). Defensively, Washington is holding their opponents to an average of 12.3 ppg on 261.7 total yards per game (168.0 passing yds/g, 93.7 rushing yds/g). The Huskies have forced 7 turnovers on the season and have an overall turnover margin of +4.

The Colorado Buffaloes improved to 3-0 on the season after defeating the FCS Northern Colorado Bears, 41-21, this past Saturday. Colorado got more of a battle for Northern Colorado than expected as the Buffaloes led just by a 28-21 margin late in the 3rd quarter, however, pulled out the victory after scoring 13 unanswered points to close out the game. Colorado outgained Northern Colorado by a 569-273 margin, however, lost the turnover battle by a 2-1 margin. Leading the way for the Buffaloes was QB Steven Montez who completed 29 of 41 passes for 357 yards and 4 TD. Offensively, Colorado is averaging 31.7 ppg on 448.0 total yards per game (299.3 passing yds/g, 148.7 rushing yds/g). Leading the way for the Buffaloes offense has been RB Phillip Lindsay who had 3 TD’s on the season and is averaging 126.0 rushing yds/g on 23.7 att/g. QB Steven Montez has completed 68.3% of his passes for 6 TD and 3 INT while averaging 286.0 passing yds/g. The Buffaloes have a talented trio of WR’s led by Shay Fields (6.3 rec/g, 85.7 yds/g, 2 TD), Devin Ross (4.7 rec/g, 77.0 yds/g, TD), and Bryce Bobo (7.0 rec/g, 67.0 yds/g, 2 TD). Defensively, Colorado is holding their opponents to an average of 9.0 ppg on 317.7 total yards per game (212.7 passing yds/g, 105.0 rushing yds/g). Colorado has forced 7 turnovers on the season and have an overall turnover margin of +2.

The Huskies are 19-9 ATS in their last 28 games following a ATS loss and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games after scoring more than 40 points in the previous game. The Buffaloes are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 conference games however, are just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games.

Colorado defense has been solid so far this season after having a few question marks after losing a lot of talent to the NFL and their defensive coordinator to Oregon, however, the high-power Washington offense will be one of the toughest tests for the Buffaloes this season. Washington to loaded with talent on both sides of the ball and as I think the Huskies will have some success through the air against the Buffaloes, I think Washington does enough to cover this spread on the road. Take Washington to cover.
